TaxSnap is a calculator and a set of reference guides. It is not financial, tax or legal advice, and Clearway Apps is not a registered tax agent, accountant or financial adviser.

1. General information only

Everything on this site is general information. It does not take into account your objectives, financial situation or needs, and it cannot: we do not know anything about you, and by design we never will, because the calculators run in your browser and send us nothing.

Before acting on any figure here, consider whether it applies to your situation, and check it against the Australian Taxation Office or a registered tax agent.

2. We are not a registered tax agent

Under the Tax Agent Services Act 2009, only a registered tax agent may provide tax agent services for a fee. Clearway Apps is not registered and does not provide tax agent services. We do not prepare returns, we do not advise on your entitlements, and we cannot represent you with the ATO. You can check whether someone is registered on the Tax Practitioners Board public register.

3. Estimates, not assessments

The calculators apply the ATO's published rates to the figures you enter. They deliberately simplify. Unless you tell them otherwise they assume a single taxpayer with no dependants, no work deductions, no salary packaging, no investment income and full-year residency. Real assessments involve offsets, rebates, apportionment and circumstances no general calculator can model. Your notice of assessment is the authority. This site is not.

4. Accuracy and currency

We take accuracy seriously and publish every source and the date it was checked. Even so, rates change, the ATO updates its guidance, and errors are possible. We make no warranty that the content is accurate, complete or current, and the site is provided on an "as is" basis. Where a figure has not yet been published by the ATO for the current year, we say so on the page rather than estimating it.

5. Financial year matters

Australia's financial year runs 1 July to 30 June, and figures for different years are not interchangeable. The site defaults to FY2026-27 for take-home pay because that is the year now running. A tax return lodged now covers FY2025-26. Using the wrong year's rates is the most common way to get an Australian tax figure wrong, including on this site if you leave the selector on the wrong setting.

6. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Clearway Apps is not liable for any loss or damage, including indirect or consequential loss, arising from your use of or reliance on this site. Nothing here excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. External links

We link to the ATO, the ABS and other external sites. We are not responsible for their content, and a link is not an endorsement.
