This Privacy Policy explains how Clearway Apps (operating as Kilkelly Enterprises), publisher of TaxSnap, handles information when you use this website. We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. Calculations stay on your device
Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. The salary, income and other figures you enter are never sent to or stored on our servers. When you close or refresh the page, those values are gone. This is a design decision, not a policy promise: no part of the site receives calculator input. The one place information does leave your browser is the contact form, and only when you choose to submit it. That is covered in section 4.
2. Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider logs standard technical information with every request, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and the page requested. That is how any web server works, and it is used in aggregate to keep the site secure and fast.
3. Cookies and advertising
This site is funded by advertising, and as at 21 August 2026 the Google AdSense tag is present on every page. We have no analytics and no tracking pixels of any other kind: no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, nothing that profiles you for us.
Being straightforward about what that tag does, because most privacy policies are not:
- It contacts Google. Loading a page makes requests to
pagead2.googlesyndication.com,googleads.g.doubleclick.net,ep1.adtrafficquality.googleandep2.adtrafficquality.google. Those are Google's advertising and ad-fraud systems. Your IP address and browser details are visible to Google as part of any such request, as they are to any server you connect to. - Ads are not being served yet. The site is awaiting AdSense review, so no ad units are on the page. We checked on 21 August 2026 and the site set no cookies at all. That will change once ads are switched on, and this page will be updated to say so rather than quietly going stale.
- When ads do run, Google and its partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to serve and measure advertising, including ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites.
Consent, for visitors in Europe. Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are shown a consent message before any advertising cookie is set, through Google's certified consent management platform. It offers Consent, Do not consent and Manage options as equally available choices: refusing is one click, exactly like accepting. You can change your answer later through the privacy settings link the message provides.
Everyone can opt out of personalised ads, wherever you are, at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party cookies at aboutads.info. Your browser settings also control cookies, and blocking them will not stop the calculators working, because they never used cookies in the first place.
4. The contact form
The contact page is the only feature on this site that sends anything to a server. Nothing is sent unless you fill it in and press send.
What it collects: the email address you enter (required, so we can reply), your name and a subject line if you choose to give them, and the text of your message. Whatever you choose to put in the message is up to you, and we would rather you did not include financial or identity details, because you do not need to for us to answer a question about a figure on this site.
Where it goes: the message is transmitted through Resend, an email delivery provider, and is delivered to a mailbox operated by Clearway Apps. Resend is based in the United States, so submitting the form involves disclosing that information to an overseas recipient in the United States. We do not disclose it to anyone else, and it is never sold, published, or used to market anything to you.
How long we keep it: for as long as it takes to deal with your message, plus a reasonable period in case you follow up. If you have reported an error in a figure, we may keep the correspondence longer so there is a record of why a number changed. You can ask us to delete it at any time and we will.
You do not have to use it. There is no other reason to give us your details: the calculators and guides are entirely free to use without contacting us, and there is no account to create.
5. Third-party links
This site links to external resources such as the Australian Taxation Office and the Australian Bureau of Statistics. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites.
6. Children's privacy
This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Your rights
Because we do not collect the personal information you enter into the calculators, there is usually nothing for us to access, correct or delete. Where we do hold something, it is a message you sent us through the contact form. You can ask us for a copy of it, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and we will act on that. Ask via the contact page, or reply to the email we sent you. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy matter, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
